A Value Measurement: This Report measures the preferences you have for how you pay attention to both the world around you and the world of your inner self. The integration of your attention to your inner and outer perceptions shapes and contributes to your more common, daily behaviors.

Why Your Value Attention Matters: To help you close the gap between what you want to do and what you actually do requires the integration of three parts of our brain; part one is your emotions, part two is your logical thinking and part three is your reflexive or unconscious mind. Your value attention in more common situations is reflected in your logical thinking. This means when you take the time to pause and reflect on your day-to-day actions and think about what you value, you’re value style will feel most like you. Knowing our value-attention helps us to not only understand but to answer the question as to which part of us when chosen will bring the better results when acted upon.

The 2 Contributors: How you value yourself and how you value the world around you both contribute and form your overall value attention style. Understanding the quality and strength of yourself and world attentions offers you access to more concrete language and your unique orientation so you can share it with others to help them better activate your attention in important situations or design your more common day behaviors in an effort to assist you in problem-solving.

World Attention Scores:  Inner world scores measure both the quality (bias) and quantity (acuity) of how clearly you pay attention to the world within yourself. This view represents the ranked hierarchy from the most valued to least valued elements in you. Outer world scores measure both the quality (bias) and quantity (acuity) of how clearly you pay attention to the world outside of yourself. This view represents the ranked hierarchy from the most valued to least valued elements in the world around you.

Applying Your Scores: Each person over long periods of time develops preferences for how they form and shape their attention. The day-to-day practice of developing preferences creates and shapes both the opportunity and quality of our attention and biases. In more common situations where we have the opportunity to pause and reflect on our value preferences, it’s in these moments that our value preferences are free to contribute more strongly to shape our behaviors. In those situations where our perception of our environment is stronger than we are, or where the strength of our emotions overwhelm us; our emotions and/or our environment takes precedence over our value-attention.

However, once the emotional intensity of the moment or the intensity of the environment subsides, our value-attention is more accessible to us. When measuring your value-attention, we apply a natural organic scale of universal value. Simply stated, people are more valuable than what they do and what they do is more valuable than the idea of doing something. We have translated this natural organic scale of value into a more useful everyday language. The legend below describes a scale of how clearly your unique approach to paying attention to three fundamental value-elements: people, tasks, and systems. Your level of clarity is akin to your eyesight; crystal clear clarity is like 20/20 vision—you see things that other people often miss. Transitional clarity is akin to looking through a fogged up windshield and you see the world or yourself through a very narrow perspective.
